The lectures will be in Chinese. The development of physics theories is usually ba<x>sed on guessing. This course “tries” to explore the reasoning behind guessing, with the study of original articles. The contents mainly cover some of the development in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Prerequisite: There is no prerequisite, but the understanding of original papers and the lectures depends on student's background on the physics core courses (CM, EM, SM, QM, SR, GR). Einstein (1916) ------- “It is not my purpose in this discussion to present the general theory of relativity as a system that is as simple and logical as possible, and with the minimum number of axioms; but my main ob<x>ject is to develop this theory in such a way that the reader will feel that the path we have entered upon is psychologically the natural one, and that the underlying assumption
