Brief

This course is offered in English and is the second part of an one-year microeconomics course of Microeconomics which is a requirement for Economics program. Knowledge of calculus will be expected as it is used frequently for solving problems. The course starts with a general equilibrium setting and discuss the economic welfare of such setting. We then investigate several market structures other than perfect competition, in which firms have the market power. A detailed analysis on firms behavior and the corresponding welfare analysis will be discussed. Lastly, we will talk about economics with uncertainty and various sources of market failure such as externality, asymmetric information, and moral hazard.
