Cryo-electron microscopy (cryo-EM) has become the method of choice for determining atomic-resolution structures of large and flexible macromolecular assemblies that are traditionally difficult to study by other techniques. This course will provide the theoretical and practical foundations of cryo-EM techniques, and ensure future generations can adapt emerging technologies to expand into new areas of biological research.

This course will discuss practical and conceptual approaches to structure determination using these techniques, as well as covering a wide range of state- of-the-art applications of cryo-EM in the biological sciences. 2. Text Books N/A 3. References Selected papers from high profile journals 4. Teaching Method All students are required to read all assigned papers and participate in classroom discussion. 5. Syllabus This course encourages students to discuss publications from peer-reviewed journals and presents their own experimental progress.
