Ribonucleic acid (RNA) biology has become one of the most influential areas in modern biology and biomedicine. The discovery of numerous novel classes of RNAs has revolutionized molecular biology, with profound impact on clinical sciences. In this course, we will first describe the basic knowledge on RNA, followed by various experimental approaches used for characterization of RNAs and RNA-protein complexes. We further elaborate recent advent of a series of effective RNA-ba<x>sed therapeutics against diseases that cannot be treated with other conventional drug groups.

We further elaborate recent advent of a series of effective RNA- based therapeutics against diseases that cannot be treated with other conventional drug groups. In the final part of this course, each student will give an oral presentation in the class and lead the group discussion.
