Students are introduced to social network theories, models of network formation, personal networks, collaboration networks, and applications across many different domains. The class uses examples including online discussion forums, social media, political network, etc. to demonstrate the widespread use of social network analysis. Students will be asked to apply these techniques to construct applications or conduct analysis using real world data by completing a final research project or paper.
