(2) Dialogues related to common topics in everyday life will be introduced to facilitate students’ proficiency in Mandarin. (3) Help students to understand simple daily conversation in Mandarin and to be able to have conversations with local people, using basic vocabulary and simple sentence patterns. (4) To train students to have the ability to give short oral report in Mandarin. 2. Contents: (1) making friends (introducing friends, family background, talking about one’s job/pastime) (2) mailing (picking up a package at the post office) (3) what shall we eat (making reservations, reading menus, flavors and taste, discussing the dishes) (4) dining at a restaurant (expressing opinions on food, paying the bill, doggie bags, tipping)
