We begin with the area problem and the distance problem to motivate the definite integral. A quite general definition of the definite integral is given initially before regular partitions are employed. Then we discuss all the standard methods about the techniques of integration and the applications of integration. The convergence tests have intuitive justifications as well as formal proofs. The emphasis is on Taylor series and polynomials and their applications to physics. Error estimates include those ba<x>sed on Taylor's Formula and those from graphing devices. So far we have dealt with the calculus of functions of a single variable. But,in the real world, physical quantities often depend on two or more variables, so we turn our attention to functions of several variables and extend the basic ideas of differential calculus to such functions.
