Electrodynamics is a two semester course focussing on advanced topics. We assume that the students are familiar with the Maxwell equations and some basic concepts like Green's functions and non-Cartesian coordinate systems. In this course we will focus on advanced concepts like waves, relativistic formulation of electrodynamics, radiations, etc.

We assume that the students are familiar with the Maxwell equations and some basic concepts like Green’s functions and non-Cartesian coordinate systems. Some of the topics covered in this lecture are 1) Electromagnetism as a relativistic gauge theory 2) Electromagnetic waves and propagation 3) Waveguides, cavities and optical fibers 4) Radiations (Bremsstrahlung, Cerenkov radiation, etc.) 5) Optics (Scattering, Diffraction, etc.) 指定用書(Text Books) – J. Lifshitz, “Course of Theoretical Physics”, Vols. 2 & 8 教學進度(Syllabus) We will pick up where we left in the first part of the course.
