Advanced English (ENG IV) is an elective course for learners in college program. Second year college program learners and above are our target participants. College program first year students should take ENG(I, II, III) before taking this course. ENG IV is a rich-text, reading-discussing-ba<x>sed course. It leads learners to erplore, and expand reading proficiency (both formal and informal), and to cultivate critical thinking. It aims to help build learners' linguistic/literary proficiency, self-confidence, and compassion to humanity. Through reading, learners familiarize with thoughts organizing and constructive criticism. Using a learning-by-doing approach, learners are able to explore basic principles of reading pedagogues. THrough discussions, activities and assignments, learners are able to refine their communicative dialogues in various contexts.

In addition to addressing interpersonal communication and presentation skills, the emphasis will be placed on intonation and pronunciation improvement.
