The course aims to provide a multidisciplinary scope of biophotonics for health care. Basic knowledge is provided for students can rapidly acquire the necessary background for fundamental research, and the wide spectrum of biomedical applications will be discussed to strengthen the capacity of bioinstrument development. Course starts from fundamental optics, including geometrical optics and wave propagation. Basic cell biology is introduced from biophysical perspective. Various microscopies (FREP, LSCM, optical tweezers), optical biosensors (SPR, Fiber, fluorescence sensing), and photodynamic therapy in clinics will be covered.
