This course aims to provide students an overview of fundamental optics and related optical applications in biomedical field. It is a one-semester ba<x>sed introduction to optics. In this class, we will essentially introduce geometrical optics and wave optics. In geometrical optics, ray-tracing, lens design, basic optical instruments will be covered. In wave optic, wave equations, interference, diffraction, image formation, coherence, polarization will be discussed.
